The Integrated Situational Awareness (ISAS) concept consists of new, synthetic displays to enhance situational awareness, combined with a smart sensor data fusion logic, named ILOS (= ISAS LOgical System), to anticipate potential threats earlier than current systems can provide.

ILOS (which is the ISAS data processing) merges data from different safety systems concerning: Terrain Traffic Weather Other and will be enhanced by the following additional functions: prioritisation of the alerts according to their risk level, handling of contradictory alerts, for example, when two safety sensors simultaneously issue alerts which would require different recovery manoeuvres.

The ISAS related HMI will focus on an implementation for a Head Down Display (HDD) only although the ISAS functions could be presented on a Head Up Display (HUD) as well.

The ISAS concept may be integrated in Modular Avionics suits in order to be able to fit any type of future or retrofitted aircraft.
