Skysoft Portugal initiated its activity in 1994, mainly oriented towards R&D in the Aeronautics domain (CNS/ATM technologies area) and working in partnership with international companies such as Thales, Airbus, BAE Systems, Smiths Group, among others.

From 1998 to 2000 Skysoft achieved outstanding growth, by successfully providing services in the space and aeronautics domain and expanding its offer of software development and IT consulting services to large multinational companies such as Axa Seguros, Siemens, Alcatel Portugal.

Since then the company has grown steadily and nowadays our experience, enriched by cooperating over the past decade with some of the major European companies in the market, evolved from just limited participation to, at present, leading national and international consortia of major pan-european projects.

As a result of its expertise and successful results from a number multi-national projects, Skysoft was awarded the enviable position of being the very first Portuguese SME to be contracted by ESA (European Space Agency).

Cp> Skysoft Portugal, which has from the start been a provider of engineering services and software based on innovative technology, is nowadays structured in three main business areas, Aeronautics, Security & Defense; Mobility, Telematics & Business Solutions; and Space, in order to focus the competencies of each area in the different markets.

The Aeronautics, Security and Defence (ASD) business area provides the market with unique, innovative and interoperable engineering solutions for high reliable and certifiable systems and products. With a highly qualified engineering know-how and a strong R&D investment orientation, Skysoft has become one of the few European companies with specific knowledge on state-of-the-art avionics architectures and associated test systems. Skysoft Portugal intend to use its existing know-how and the results from the ISAWARE II project to further exploit its objectives of being a competitive supplier of products and services in the business area of avionics for the aviation, space, automotive and automation markets

The Aerospace R&D Group was launched in September of 1995. Since then, RTSN earned a reputation as a dynamic and innovative company capable of providing state-of-the-art products as well as leading projects and working in partnerships.

Given below is a list of some of the main past and current pan-European development projects in which Skysoft has been actively involved:

AFAS –Future Aircraft in the Future Air traffic management System (Coordinator is Aerospatiale Matra-Airbus).
MA-AFAS – Autonomous Future Aircraft in the Future Air traffic management System ( Coordinator is BAE SYSTEMS Avionics).
IASI Product Facility - subcontractor to Alcatel Space Industries for the EUMETSAT core ground segment (CGS) supply.
PRODAT-2 upgrade (ESA contract, with Alcatel Space Industries as prime contractor).
SDLS-2 (ESA contract, with Alcatel Space Industries as prime contractor).
VICTORIA – Future Aircraft Electronic Systems (coordinator is Thales Avionics)
AFMS – Advanced Flight Management System.
3FMS – Free-Flight Flight Management System.
GASCA – Generic Avionics Scaleable Computer Architecture
ISAWARE – Increasing Safety through collision Avoidance WARning intEgration
SAMS – Airport vehicles movement control system
SDLS – Satellite Data Link System for Air Traffic Management (European Space Agency project)

EXPECTED ISAWARE II EXPLOITATION

Skysoft Portugal, an SME, intend to use its existing know-how and the results from the ISAWARE project to further exploit its objectives as being a competitive supplier of aviation products and services in the business area of avionics cockpits.
