EADS/Airbus, EADS/Casa, EADS/Eurocopter, EADS/Space,
We also sell products and services directly to some 200 airlines and 40 armed forces around the world. THALES AVIONICSleads cross-border partnerships on a number of major programs. THALES is the only company in the world to cover all three aspects critical to air transport safety and security (air traffic management, avionics, training and simulation). By working with other units in the THALES group, we can propose complete packages through THALES Air Traffic Management, for communication and radiocommunication, for training through THALES Training & Simulation. With Thales Airborne Systems we can propose complete systems in the field of defence. In Europe, THALES Avionics collaborates with Smiths Industries on a new flight management system (FMS) for Airbus jetliners, with Siemens for smoke detection systems on the Airbus family, with Marshall of Cambridge on the Topdeck _ suite for C-130 retrofits, with Eurocopter on the new-generation Meghas _ avionics suite for civil helicopters and in Germany with Diehl, Nord Micro, Teldix on the Tiger helicopter. In Russia, Thales Avionics has partnerships with RAC MIG, Gosniias, Ramenskoye on MiG programs. THALES AVIONICS also works closely with Parker Hannifin and Sundstrand on flight controls for the Global Express, with BF Goodrich for fuel management systems on the Airbus family. Dual-use technologies THALES AVIONICS has staked out its global leadership positions by building on a wide array of technologies, developed in-house and often used in dual (civil/military) applications: Through its subsidiary Thales Avionics LCD, THALES AVIONICS is the only company in the world with its own in-house LCD supply source. Diehl Avionik Systeme GmbH, a joint venture of Diehl Group and THALES AVIONICS, provides the symbol generator. Thales Avionics thus offers a complete family of liquid crystal displays and instruments, used extensively on airplanes and helicopters around the world. A specialist in laser gyro inertial reference systems, THALES AVIONICS produces navigation and guidance systems for a number of aerospace applications, from fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft to Ariane launchers. THALES AVIONICS's GPS product line is very successful, particularly on Airbus and Boeing jetliners (as an integral part of the MMR), the Tiger helicopter and for EGNOS and GALILEO. To meet the increasingly demanding requirements of modern air combat, THALES AVIONICS has called on its expertise in both optics and position detection to develop a family of Helmet-Mounted Sight/Displays (HMS/D) for both fixed and rotary-wing military aircraft. The key to mission success, these lightweight helmets feature a modular design and a sharper image. Capitalizing on its advanced silicon and quartz microtechnologies, Thales Avionics is producing a new generation of sensors for both avionics and other applications in severe environment. THALES AVIONICS develops safety-critical systems for a number of civil and military aircraft, covering flight control, fuel management, man-machine interface and other key functions. At the heart of these systems are THALES AVIONICS's own computers |
